Recreation Pier, a 500-foot long 1914 pier on the Fells Point waterfront, was awarded to a team led by J.J. Clarke Enterprises for redevelopment as a boutique hotel. The $50 million program will re-build the pier, restore the head building and ballroom, and create a 130-key Aloft Hotel inside the existing pier structure. This development has been awarded federal and state tax credits in recognition of its effort to rescue this endangered landmark.

Clarke Closes Deal for Fells Point Recreation Pier

One Light Street is a 29,000 square foot downtown opportunity zoned for commercial or residential use. The site has been proposed as a mixed-use hotel-office-residential use with up to 32 stories. Plans for the site have been drawn by architects John Burgee and Philip Johnson, Peter Fillat, Gwathmey-Siegal, Hord-Coplan-Macht, and Gensler. Tax incentives have been approved for hotel, parking and office uses.
